Everyone will have to go through the check in
station to take your temperature; everyone is required to wear
face coverings when in the building.
LIMITED ATTENDANCE DUE TO CDC GUIDELINES
Participants will obtain an understanding of tree growth and development, proper pruning methods, and safe techniques leading to a decrease in accidents and an increase in properly pruned trees for long term-care.
6:00 – 6:30am Registration
6:30 am - 7:30 am Tree Growth and Development: This session will focus on tree biology and how planting, watering and pruning create (or undermine) the success of a tree based on its biology.
7:30 am - 8:30 am Proper Planting and Pruning Methods: Using what we learned in the first session about tree biology, we will dive into how to work with trees for the best outcomes. We will learn what happens when improper practices are applied to these living organisms and what the better options are.
8:30 am - 9:30 am Safely Working Around Trees: Trees are heavy and gravity is always at work! Knowing how to safely work around trees is a big part of properly managing them. We will look at safe practices for those managing trees and palms.
9:30 am - 10:30 am Utility Hazard Awareness: Understanding the risks in an electrified world will help you make better decisions about tree management and right tree right place planting.
