6 ISA CEUs (Treeworker, Arborist, Municipal Specialist)

3 ISA CEUs (Utility Specialist)

Electricity is a serious hazard to tree workers and arborists and electrocution is in the top three leading causes of death for people working in tree care (fall, electrocutions, and struck-by).

Even a phone line can be energized with enough voltage to kill and workers don't even have to directly touch a wire to be electrocuted - about half of the electrocution fatalities are the result of indirect contact.  The threat is real and the response to mitigate this threat is AWARNESS and SAFE WORK PRACTICES!

Join us for three hours of electric hazard awareness for tree professionals followed by a three-hour authorized CPR and First Aid Training for arborists and tree workers.

During the first three hours we will cover:

  • Risk in the tree care profession
  • OSHA’s and ANSI training requirements
  • Basic electrical terminology
  • How electricity works
  • Identifying electrical system components
  • How electricity affects the human body
  • Hazard recognition
  • Hazard Avoidance/Work Practices
  • Aerial rescue protocol

We will then take a break for lunch and reconvene for three hours of CPR and First Aid Training provided by Desert Fire – authorized trainers.

Space is limited in this class so signup soon!

NOTE: this is not an ACRT program and is not a utility line clearance program.
