Climber, Arborist, Crew Lead at Ascending Tree Care

Salary

•  $25 - $35/hour, based on experience and certifications
• $1,000 sign-on bonus after completing the first 2 weeks
• Bonus/Commission Potential

Location: Phoenix, AZ Valley Wide

Job Description

• Tree trimming and removals, both commercial and residential

• Utilizes ropes for work positioning at heights up to 70 feet, while pruning or removing trees

• Properly maintains, prepares and operates all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, trucks, and aerial lifts

• Coordinates disposal of wood and chips generated by crew for recycling

• Manages work orders through completion  

• Fosters teamwork and provides direction and mentoring to crew members as needed

• Leads by example and ensures crew maintains highest safety and quality standards

• Operates as part of crew with supporting groundman and assists with ground operations and cleanup as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years climbing/pruning experience (without spikes); including

• Ability to set a tie-in-point utilizing Throwball and Throwline

• Proficiency tying Climbing Hitches, Termination Knots, & Rigging Knots

• Experience with proper pruning cuts per best industry standards

• Experience with Sectional Tree Removal utilizing techniques to minimize Dynamic Loads

• Experience felling with open-faced notch, hinge wood, and back cut for directional control

• Aerial Lift Experience

• Proper tree identification

• Knowledge of best industry practices and safety regulations

• Extensive experience and practice of safe chainsaw operation and maintenance

• Excellent communication and team leadership skills

• Customer service oriented and eagerness to learn and grow within our company

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

• ISA certification a plus (ISA arborist certification required within 12 months of employment)

• ANSI A300 Pruning guidelines a plus

• Bilingual a plus (English & Spanish)
